Geocaching for Schools
Making Sense of Place through GPS Technology and Geocaching
A new approach
In this innovative, outdoor, practice-oriented project, we brought together geocaching and education for sustainability to develop a new approach to inquiry-based science.
Turning fun into learning
Geocaching is a lot of fun but not normally purposefully educational or science-focused.
Our idea was to enhance geocaching and support pupils’ scientific inquiries.
Creative teaching
Geocaching has the potential to enliven science teaching, catalysing inquiry through taking learning outdoors, making it fun, experiential, locally meaningful, yet globally connected.
